Juvenile Dependency (CWS/CPS Cases)
Juvenile Dependency cases are those that involve Child Welfare Services investigations. Dependency cases can be frightening and discouraging. Often, the children have been removed from the home. Strict timelines apply to the reunification process. If these lapse, the court looks to permanency planning for dependent children, which can involve adoption, guardianship, or long-term foster care.
Parents of children subject to dependency cases are often appointed legal counsel. I serve as court-appointed representation for both children and parents who are parties to the dependency case. Frequently, others involved with the dependent child will wish to have legal representation and may wish to participate in the dependency proceedings. I am also available for to be retained for these purposes.
